GROUND RULE FOR ALL APG MEETINGS

  1. THE PURPOSE OF EVERY MEETING OF THE ALL PEOPLES GARDEN IS TO FURTHER THE MISSION OF THE GARDEN IN A PEACEFUL & RESPECTFUL MANNER.
  2. ALL MEMBERS CAN PRESENT SUBJECTS FOR DISCUSSION ON THE AGENDA EITHER WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE CHAIRPERSON OR BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE MEMBERS.
  3. MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE RESPECTFUL AND COURTEOUS TOWARDS EACH OTHER AND OTHER ATTENDEES – NO VERBAL OR PHYSICAL HARASSMENT, THREATS OR ABUSE OF ANY KIND – NO YELLING AND SCREAMING, FOUL LANGUAGE , NAME CALLING ETC.
  4. A TIME LIMIT OF 3 MINUTES IS REQUIRED FOR EACH MEMBER TO DISCUSS A TOPIC, AND MUST BE RECOGNIZED BY THE CHAIRPERSON. MEMBERS SHOULD REFRAIN FROM SPEAKING OVER FROM EACH OTHER OR OUT OF TURN.
  5. MEMBERS SHOULD STAY FOCUS ON THE ISSUE BEING DISCUSSED.
  6. LISTEN AND BE PATIENT.
  7. MEMBERS SHOULD DISCUSS ISSUES WITH CONVICTION, BUT SHOULD NOT MAKE IT PERSONAL.
  8. MEMBERS SHOULD IN THE END SHOULD FOLLOW THE DECISION OF THE GROUP WHEN REACH BY MAJORITY OF VOTE OR CONSENSUS.
  9. MEMBERS SHOULD ARRIVE ON TIME FOR MEETINGS.
  10. MEMBERS SHOULD ENJOY THE DAY IN THE GARDEN.

If any one or more of the ground rules are violated, the person will be notified verbally or in writing. If the situation is not corrected, that member may be subject to suspension or revocation of membership privilege. Suspension or removal may include-
A. Losing the right to vote.
B. Losing the right to attend meetings, or participate in the garden for a determine period of time.
C. Losing the right to continue as a member of the All People’s Garden, Inc.

 

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
All Peoples Garden, Inc.

  1. Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the garden.
  2. Be active in the administration of the garden, by attending meetings if necessary.
  3. Participate in activities, which will bring funding for the long term survival of the garden.
  4. Represent the Garden to similar garden groups, community residents, public officials, and affilaite organizations such as The Manhattan Land Trust and Grown New York.
  5. Opening of the garden for the use of the public for at least three hours per day each week, during the spring and summer months.
  6. Provide care and maintenance to the plants by watering at least once per week.
  7. Sweep and clean all plant beds, pathways and gazebo as necessary at least once, alternating with other member.

Note – These requirements are not limited and members can perform additional garden oversight as it benefit the long term liability of the garden.
